What is it all about?

    What is Chinese Medicine?

Modern science is finally beginning to take an interest in traditional healing. Chief among these is Chinese Medicine, which has been studied, practiced, and refined for over 5000 years. This simple but profound medicinal system emphasizes maintaining and increasing our vitality, energy, and spirit through the integration of numerous complimentary healing modalities.  Both Gideon and Ana Enz have trained extensively in 4 major branches of Chinese Medicine: Medical Qigong, Chinese Massage, Herbal Therapy, and Cupping & Moxibustion Therapy.

Medical Qigong

Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy is a comprehensive method of healing that enables a skilled therapist to adjust a patient’s life-force energy. By utilizing the principles of cleansing, nourishing, and harmonizing, Medical Qigong resolves disease patterns and brings about a consistent state of well being.

Chinese massage

An excellent method for releasing physical or emotional stresses and addressing postural imbalances, Chinese massage includes techniques that release muscle-fascia channels, purify and strengthen internal organs, and harmonize the flow of Qi - the body’s life-force energy.

Herbal Therapy

Herbs are humanity’s oldest form of medicine - their use dates back over 100,000 years! Properly employed, herbs can be used as a stand-alone therapy, or as a powerful adjunct to other healing modalities. Integrating Chinese, Indian, and Western systems of herbal therapy enables a skilled herbalist to effectively address both acute and chronic conditions. Herbs are usually in prepared pill form or in loose combinations for tea.

Moxibustion gently uses the warmth from burning herbs to energize general areas or specific points. Primarily used to treat deficiency and chronic diseases, moxibustion is also known for is ability to relieve difficult stagnations such as arthritis.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy uses physical and energetic suction to draw deep toxins out to the surface of the body. Usually applied to the back, cupping is an excellent method for dissolving acute or chronic tensions in the spine, shoulders, and internal organs

Prescription Exercises

Hands down the most effective and unique therapy offered. After each session, personalized exercise and meditations are recommended.  Each simple routine is specifically designed to aid that individual in taking control of their own health and vitality.

What does a session involve?

After an initial evaluation, a combination of Medical Qigong Therapy and Oriental Massage is used to resolve disease patterns by addressing symptoms and their root cause. In some cases, Moxibustion and Cupping Therapy are used as adjuncts. At the end of the session, you will normally receive personalized qigong exercises and/or herbal formulas.
